THE CHARACTER

Grampus is a midget submarine who we first met when he was working for the Navy.  As a close friend and associate of the Star Tugs, Grampus’ finest hour was when he helped clear Ten Cents’ name when barges began to go missing – and helped rescue a hostage caught in the situation. 

The Star Tugs repaid him for his kind deeds when the Navy planned to retire him and blow him to pieces -  by sailing into the firing line and hauling him out in time, replacing him with a barge of logs instead.  Grampus is loyal, kind, friendly and makes good use of his ability to dive below the depths and reach places that the Tugs cannot – seen when the Fultan Ferry sank.
