HARBOUR TUG

THE CHARACTER
Zebedee is Captain Zero's second tug. He's sarcastic, witty but understated, and rarely speaks up when in the company of Zorran but bounces well off Zak. He's surprisingly approachable when on his own too.
Zebedee tries to live up to the example set by Zorran and Zak, a ‘heavy’ type who’ll go out of his way to get what he wants, and will often play up to this role when he’s with the other two Z-Stack Harbour Tugs.
A prime example of this was when he and Zak attempted to intimidate Top Hat into reversing out of their way when they met in the middle of the canal during high tide. But Zebedee realised too late that his steel girder barge was too tall for the railway bridge, which caused significant structural damage, and which Top Hat was left to deal with.
But Zebedee isn’t as tough as he would like others to think – Zorran will often try to keep him down when he says or does something that he doesn’t approve of.
Johnny Cuba, the notorious gangster Tramp Steamer once manipulated him into doing his bidding when he sailed into Bigg City to meet his ‘business pals’, despite knowing the Captain Zero would be furious due to him and Cuba not being on good terms.
Zebedee questioned his position over whose wrath he feared more that day – Captain Zero’s or Johnny’s. It was this confusion which perhaps softened his hard exterior when he showed a little compassion to his Star Tugs rivals on 2 occasions that day, much to the bewilderment of Zorran.
Despite being conflicted, Zebedee proved he can be very brave in the end when, prompted by Hercules, he trapped Johnny Cuba and took him in to the authorities with his Star Rival. This won favour with Captain Zero and allowed him to put a very confusing day behind him.
This did show however that Zebedee does not hold any real malice in him. He treats his Star rivals, not with contempt, but with rival taunting. He can step up when the right thing needs to be done, and while this does not earn him any points with his colleagues, it does in the end work out well for everyone.
An interesting character therefore, Zebedee is one to watch, albeit most of the time in the background!
THE MODEL
Zebedee is currently in excellent condition. He has the face he is best known for and there is no damage of note to the model.
He hasn't been out all that much which is something we wish to rectify in the future. We only have the one face mask and while it is the one we'd probably want to have, we know the other faces were sold and are out there somewhere. We have said before but still appeal to whoever owns those faces or indeed to anyone that knows them to get in touch. We would love to work with them one day, in a way that is mutually beneficial!
